Candles are coming.

We love candles. Our house is filled with them. There is nothing like the warm glow of a candle filling your house with the scents and memories you love. What happens though when you can’t really find the smell you’re looking for? Well in our case… we decided to make our own.
Of course the first scent we wanted to make was one of our all time favorite things. Coffee!

Americano reminds us of that smell that hits you in the face when you open the door to your favorite coffee shop. Creamy coffee with warm milk, cinnamon sticks, amber, coffee beans, musk, cedar and leather all with a touch of vanilla. It’s like the quirky cafe’  where all the hipsters hang out. If you know anything about us then you know we couldn’t have made anything scented without this blend of smells. So naturally it was the first blend we created.

Aside from coffee our family loves the smell of the outdoors during the different seasons. We are just generally an outdoor family, especially now that we live in Texas and the humidity isn’t smothering.  When we started discussing candles we talked about a January release date, which was a tad sad cause that meant a whole year or waiting to pick out the perfect Christmas scent. We started focusing on early spring and how the earth feels as winter melts into spring. You know, when the air still has that cool crisp in it but instead of snow, rain falls to defrost the grown as little floral buds wiggle their way up to the surface. You may not notice it but it happens. This lead us to one of our favorite smells. A little scent we call “Builders Brew.”

Builder’s Brew is based off to a British colloquial term for a strong cup of tea. This candle makes us feel like we are sitting on bay window, in a English flat, drinking a strong cup of Earl Grey tea, nose deep in a good book while a spring rains falls outside. This candle is filled with a majestic blending of Earl Grey tea leaves, black teas, shaved ginger root, dried pears and crisp apples. Patchouli undertones along with earthen moss, and hints of sweet citrus. Rain has never smelled better!

Over time the rain finally subsides and the grass begin to turn green again and the air warms up. Sprouts of green stems begin to burst through the ground and color starts to emerge. Spring is here. The breeze is refreshing and the flowers smell amazing. It’s a perfect setting to fly a kite. Which leads us to our next candle.

Kite Weather makes us want to kick off our winter boots, grab a kite and run barefoot in the fresh grass. With a base smell of blue skies with hints of warm musk and cedarwood, lavender, citrus and a fresh flower garden after a spring rain this candle makes our inner child leap for joy for the coming spring.

If you love candles as much as we do, we hope you look forward to these scents filling your home with the start of the new year. Follow us on Instagram and Facebook to grab your favorite scents before they run out!
