This week we’ve been working on some design stuff for Mother’s Day. We’ve been working in a room that has a lot of stone and wood textures along with a lot of brown tones. In the space there was a section that would fit a seating area nicely but we needed a coffee table. Something functional but simple and easy to move it the space was to be redesigned. We found 4 crates lying around and decided lets add a base and some wheels and make a table.
Take 2 unfinished wood crates, you can find some like these at Walmart or Hobby Lobby, put them back to back and wood glued them together.
Measure out a base, cut and screw the base onto the bottom side of the connected crates. (We used basic plywood)
Stain desired color.
Attach 4 wheel casters to the base for mobility. (You can find these at Lowes.)
We made 2 of these boxes. Now they can be placed side by side and make a coffee table or we can roll them apart and use them as side tables if need be. Add a cute tray to hold coasters or candles. Store kid books or blankets on the sides. Tons of uses and a quick easy weekend project.
